Privacy policy

9Mesh is made by Etched Echo Studios (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the 9Mesh app and this website handle.
9Mesh has no accounts and no ads, and doesn't track you across apps or sell data. It sends anonymous usage and crash information to TelemetryDeck so we can see how the game is played and fix problems. Nothing it sends includes your name, email, Apple Account, Game Center identity or advertising ID.
What stays on your iPhone
Your progress, scores, streaks, earned themes and settings are saved on your device. There is no 9Mesh account, no iCloud sync and no server of ours that holds them. Deleting the app deletes them.
Anonymous analytics
The app uses TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service based in the EU, to learn how the game is played. Each install is counted by an anonymous identifier that is hashed on your device before it is sent, so it can't be traced back to you and isn't shared with other apps. The information covers:
- How you play: the puzzles and modes you play, time spent, hints, mistakes and scores, Daily results and streaks, and the achievements and themes you earn.
- How you use the app: the screens you visit, the intro and Home tour, and when the 9Mesh Plus screen appears or Plus is bought or restored, including the product, its price and the App Store country.
- Your settings, such as the theme, sound and music, and whether you have Plus.
- Technical details such as the app version, iPhone model, iOS version, language, region, time zone and accessibility settings.
We never send the digits you place or your Game Center identity. The app has no text fields, so nothing you type is sent.
Crash and hang reports
When 9Mesh crashes or freezes, the app sends a short summary of what happened and the app version to TelemetryDeck. If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may also send us its own crash reports.
Game Center
Game Center is Apple's service and is optional. 9Mesh starts using it after you finish the first area. If you're signed in, your Daily scores (with how they were earned, such as wrong boards and precision) and your longest streak are posted to leaderboards, and your achievements are reported to Game Center. If you allow access to your Game Center friends, 9Mesh uses it only to show how your friends did on the Daily. This information is handled under Apple's privacy policy, and we don't receive your email or real name.
9Mesh Plus
Plus is an in-app purchase handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. The app only checks whether Plus is owned on your Apple Account.
Sharing and Photos
When you tap Share after a Daily, 9Mesh makes a text and picture of your result and hands them to the iOS share sheet; nothing is sent unless you choose where. If you choose Save Image, iOS asks for permission to add it to Photos. 9Mesh can only add photos, and never reads your library.
What we don't do
No ads or advertising SDKs, no tracking across apps or websites, and no selling or sharing of data. The only outside services 9Mesh uses are TelemetryDeck (analytics) and Apple (Game Center and the App Store).
This website
This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or trackers. Its fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google to fetch them. As with any website, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security and reliability.
Children
9Mesh isn't directed at children specifically, and it collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Your choices
You can play without Game Center, decline friends access, and decline Photos access. Because the analytics are anonymous, we can't connect any of it to you to look up or delete it. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device.

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date above.
